Leading the Cubs
Children are the blossoming buds on the branches of our family tree. If the tree has been under stress or the child encounters stress in social or academic settings, growing up can become an ordeal.
It doesn't have to be that way.
This is the ideal moment to break a dysfunctional cycle for both the family and the child (not to mention the child's future family).
If a child is being bullied, by either other children or adults, there are tools and techniques to empower a timid child, and teach him or her new, assertive behavior. Or, if a child is him- or herself bullying, there are corresponding strategies to repair the damage that has compelled the child to be aggressive and to re-establish the maintenance of appropriate boundaries.
Playtime, music, "felt"-emotion boards and nature days help connect a child to her or his emotional core. Self-expression, confidence building and overall validation are the ways into repairing and growing the child's bruised self-regard.
